Dessert Bar by Stanley Choong

PJ is fast becoming a paradise of sweet eateries, with the likes of Dessert Bar by Stanley Choong joining the myriad of popular must-visits. It’s easy to spot this humble dessert parlour: follow the neon pink bunny cheekily displayed on its window, and hop right into an adventure of decadent wonder. 

Though the current options available are limited, Stanley, a dedicated pastry chef who trained under the prestigious tutelage of Le Cordon Bleu Malaysia and Japan, provokes the palate with a small but enticing menu of desserts, served in his newly minted shop in the heart of Sri Petaling. The tantalizing swirls of the Coconut Lime tart with its luscious combination of coconut panna cotta and almond dacquoise, the Praline slice with its delicious layers of textures and flavors, the fruity freshness of Fraisier, a tart filled with irresistibly smooth pastry cream and fresh strawberries on a crispy meringue, and the Yuzu, a beautifully blended pairing of yuzu cremeux with Belgian chocolate mousse. There’s also a delicious array of choux puffs filled with flavors such as spiced apple, French vanilla, matcha, and chocolate, not to mention macarons dressed pretty in gift boxes.

As the weeks progress for this little shop, so does its menu. Stanley continues to bake up meticulously enticing desserts, hoping to have something for everyone sooner rather than later.
