Simple cheesecake recipe home-bake

You’ll first learn the special contents of the recipe of this cheese wonder of a cake and then we’ll expose the techniques to creating this golden beauty -- the cheesecake! Are you ready to bake your very first cheesecake (or maybe this is your umpteenth attempt)? Strap that apron on and let’s roll!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Crust

  1. 128g graham cracker crumbs
  2. 28g confectioner’s sugar
  3. 74g butter, melted
  4. ⅛ tablespoon of salt

Filling

  1. 454g cream cheese, room temperature
  2. 2 large eggs, room temperature
  3. 152g granulated sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

LET’S GET BAKING:

  1. Preheat  the oven to 176 °C
  2. Get a pie pan that’s at least: 9” wide (inside area) and 11/4” tall
  3. Time to make the crust: Mix all of the ingredients in the crust section and mix until it is thoroughly combined
  4. Pour the mix into the pie pan and press the crumbs into the bottom part and sides (make sure the bottom part is thicker than the rest)
  5. Time to make the filling:
  • Mix the cream cheese and granulated together thoroughly until it is smooth
  • Now add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix it thoroughly until it is smooth
  • Tip: Avoid beating too much air and lumps by using a mixer at low-medium speed and making sure the ingredients are at room temperature respectively
  1. Place the pie pans onto a baking sheet and pour the filling into the crust
  2. Place the cheesecake into the oven and bake it for 20 minutes
  3. Take the cheesecake out momentarily to cover the crust with additional strips of aluminium foil and continue baking them for another 10 minutes
  • A digital thermometer inserted into the filling (1” away from the edge) should read 73°C and 76°C
    1. Take the cheesecake out of the oven and set it somewhere to cool
    2. Once it has cooled, cover the cheesecake and refrigerate it

  • PRO TIP: SERVE THE CHEESECAKE IN WEDGES (WITH SOME FRESH FRUITS OF YOUR CHOICE IF YOU WANT)
