Hi Monica Low, thank you for your informative feedback.
On behalf of all of us at Eat Cake Today, we would like to sincerely apologize for this experience. We fully sympathize with you and can only imagine how disappointed you would've been upon receiving this cake and how it wouldn've negatively affected the entire occasion.
The state of the cake which you received is most definitely below our basic commitment to our customers and for this we are very sorry. Baker suspects that most likely, that the crack in buttercream could be due to temperature changes along the way or due to recipe of the cake sponge. It is normal at times for Swiss meringue buttercream to have small hairline crack due to weather/ humidity. Having said that, baker is still looking into this to try to solve the issue as best they can. Be rest assured though that the cake was freshly made and should not have compromised the taste of the cake.
We will strive to ensure that this kind of thing never happens again by ensuring our baker is better instructed on cake handling. Once again, we are sincerely sorry for this experience.
